Mizan Furniture: teak furniture and handicraft, made in Medina

A new Saudi company bringing Indonesian teak to the Kingdom's hotels, homes and visitors.

Saudi Arabia is building hotel rooms faster than almost any country, and Medina welcomes millions of visitors every quarter. Mizan Furniture will assemble and finish teak furniture in Medina from parts made in Indonesia, and produce teak handicraft and decorative items on automated lines for the Kingdom's souvenir trade. We are looking for a Saudi partner to fund the venture.

Behind it is thirty years on both sides of this business: developing and operating a five-star resort, then producing furniture for the resorts that buy it. For the past eighteen months I have re-engineered and digitised the whole production and finishing process of a family-owned Indonesian furniture company, which will be the first supplier. The same system will run the Medina workshop.
